Undyed Ethicon Coated Vicryl Braided Absorbable Prime Reverse Cutting 3/8C 4-0 PS-1 27" suture is a sterile, absorbable surgical suture composed of braided polyglactin 910 fibers. It is coated to enhance handling characteristics, facilitating smooth passage through tissues and providing excellent knot security. The undyed color allows for minimal tissue contrast, beneficial in procedures where visual discretion is required. 

The suture features a prime reverse cutting needle with a 3/8 circle curvature, designed to minimize tissue trauma while providing precise control. This needle type is especially suitable for tougher tissues. The combination of the needle and braided suture ensures ease of knot tying and strong knot security on the first throw, critical for reliable surgical outcomes.

The tensile strength of this suture decreases by 50% after approximately three weeks, supporting the healing process while gradually losing strength as the tissue regains integrity. Complete absorption of the suture mass occurs within 56 to 76 days, eliminating the need for suture removal and reducing the risk of long-term foreign body reaction.
